Salary: £45,000+ with an increase to £49,000+ after the introduction of call out duties
Hours: 8am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday with a 24 hour call out rota 1 week in every 6 weeks (call out duties will not begin until full training has been given)
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days annual leave plus the 8 customary bank holidaysWe have a great opportunity for an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service at our flour mill in Tilbury. In this role, the successful candidate will be required to carry out planned, predictive and reactive maintenance tasks in line with safety and quality standards, to ensure the long term maximum utilisation of the production plant and its compliance with statutory legal requirements. To also contribute to the continual improvement of the plant.Duties & Responsibilities
  • To operate to procedures as defined within site quality, environmental and health and safety.
  • systems and standards.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of the plant, processes and working environment through generating and implementing improvements and working collaboratively across departments/sites.
  • To assist with monitoring external contractors on site, ensuring familiarisation with site rules.
  • Carrying out daily monitoring inspections and self-audits in each area of the plant on a weekly rota.
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to any unscheduled plant stoppages.
  • Use the Maximo system, ensuring labour and material expended are recorded and PPM/PdM are carried out for all areas of the site.
  • Safely carry out all repairs to plant equipment and services as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Participate in the efficient running of the maintenance department, including; housekeeping, planning of work, use of tools and control of spare parts and materials.
  • Participates in the call out program for maintenance faults.
  • Analyse and rectifies plant/process defects in a timely manner using RCA where applicable.
  • Work within budget and looks to reduce costs where ever possible.
  • Engage in the Safety-First culture and compliance with AMB internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensures their own development and training needs are identified, participating in the proactive environment.
  • Actively participate and contribute in the sharing of “Best Practice” within a food manufacturing environment.
Skills & Experience
  • A great customer focus with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, be punctual and reliable.
  • Health and Safety awareness (essential)
  • Food Safety awareness (desirable)
  • Experience as a maintenance engineer in an operational environment preferably FMCG, Food or drink.
  • Computer literate.
  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship, with a formal qualification.
  • Experience of replacing common mechanical drive couplings, chains, belts, rolling element bearings.
  • Experience of industrial 3 phase motor and control systems and their interaction with modern PLC systems.
  • Experience of a plant with pneumatic control and operation and common industrial bearing systems.
  • Experience of compressed air systems, pneumatic components and steam rising plant.
