Design Engineer (2D & 3D, Sheet Metal)West Mersea, Colchester£36,000 to £45,000 DOE + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension + Death in Service Benefit + Medical Support Scheme + Onsite Parking + Development Opportunities + Chartership SupportMonday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm, Fridays, 9am to 4pm.Design Engineer required for a successful manufacturing engineering organisation who provide niche designs to their clients. The company are expanding and so need staff to join their growing team.Candidates will have 2D and 3D experience, ideally on AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks or similar packages.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer to join a business that invests and develops their team, including support towards Chartership. The products are renowned for their exceptional quality and are used in a number of interesting applications.The Design Engineer Role:
  • Design of company products for a range of projects from a value of £2000 to £2million.
  • Completing designs within the relevant regulations/standards.
  • Producing initial 2D layout drawings for client discussion and approval.
  • Producing 3D manufacturing models for fabrication and installation.
  • Completing full design packages consisting of BOMs, design specification, installation detail drawings & post installation as-built documentation.
  • Liaison with the projects team, keeping them up to date throughout the process.
The Successful Design Engineer:
  • Previous experience in a Design Engineering role.
  • Competent in use of AutoCAD LT, SolidWorks or similar packages.
  • ideally have experience of CFD simulation.
  • You will hold an HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline e.g. mechanical.
