Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer with expertise in environmental protection and contaminated land. The successful candidate will carry out a range of statutory and policy-driven duties, ensuring compliance and providing professional guidance across environmental protection matters.Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of premises, business operations, construction sites, and permitted processes to ensure compliance with statutory and policy requirements
  • Prepare IPPC reports and risk-rate premises
  • Review, assess, and process environmental permits and variations
  • Support investigations into statutory nuisances, including noise and air pollution
  • Provide high-quality responses to planning consultations
Essential qualifications & experience:
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in contaminated land
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning consultations, air pollution control legislation, and statutory nuisance processes
  • Understanding of noise monitoring equipment and protocols
  • Significant experience in environmental protection, pollution control, and statutory nuisance
  • Full UK driving licence
