- oOrdained or accredited person and in good standing the Anglican Church or a part of the Free Churches Group of Churches Together in England.
- oDegree or equivalent in relevant subject. E.g. theology, pastoral care
- oPost based training relevant to healthcare chaplaincy.
- oDetailed knowledge and understanding of the NHS Healthcare Chaplaincy in acute settings
- oKnowledge and understanding of multi-faith/ belief needs and cultural requirements, and the related role and task of healthcare chaplaincy
- oKnowledge of and ability to provide rites of passage and rituals etc, particularly with the regard to the dying and for those seriously ill.
- oKnowledge and understand of Equality & Diversity
- oUnderstanding of Trust vales and behaviours
- oA certificate in counselling or other relevant specialist training
- oTo be registered, or to be able to register as a chaplain with UKBHC
- oExperience of working with Mental Health
- oFlexible working times.
- oSignificant years' experience of ministry
- oSignificant experience in healthcare chaplaincy and the delivery of spiritual care for patient, their loved ones, and colleagues
- oExperience of caring for the sick or bereaved
- oEvidence of continued professional development.
- oExcellent communication, pastoral and interpersonal skills.
- oAbility to work in difficult/distressing circumstances
- oAbility to listen and provide spiritual care in difficult situations
- oExperience of and ability to work autonomously
- oExperience of and ability to work effectively with the team and others
- oIT skills/ presentation skills
- oProven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- oTo be able to travel to the hospital within 1 hour at any time when working or on call
- oAble to share in weekend provision and participate in an on-call rota to respond to urgent calls out of contracted hours.
