Work Opportunity ContractIntroductionWe're looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join the capital projects team at a busy ethylene manufacturing plant. You'll play a key role across the full project lifecycle, using your cost estimation and project controls expertise to drive smart decisions, improve planning, and keep projects on track. - Creating accurate cost estimates across all project stages from concept to execution.
- Cost control by preparing & presenting cost reports, forecasts, & variance analyses to project and leadership teams.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving value engineering initiatives.
- Monitoring budgets, tracking spend and reporting on variances and forecasts and work closely with planners to align costs with project schedules and milestones.
- Assessing cost risks and benchmarking against industry standards.
- Supporting procurement by reviewing vendor proposals and ensuring contracts align with budgets.
- Maintaining cost databases and using data insights to improve forecasting and decision-making.
- Solid experience in cost engineering ideally in energy, oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, or infrastructure.
- Comfortable using tools like AspenTech, SAP, Oracle, and Excel.
- Sharp analytical skills with a knack for financial modelling and reporting.
- Bonus points if you've juggled multiple capital projects at once!
