We are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Classroom Care Assistants at Stanmore School, Lanark.About the RoleAs a Classroom Care Assistant/Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and independence. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you will:
  • Assist in preparing, supporting, and tidying the classroom.
  • Provide one-to-one and group care, ensuring every child can access learning and daily activities.
  • Support children with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs.
  • Administer medication safely in line with care plans.
  • Accompany and escort pupils throughout the school day, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
  • Encourage communication and interaction using assistive technologies and communication aids.
  • Help manage behaviours that may challenge, always with dignity and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers, and health professionals.

  • Able to provide physical, emotional, and social support to children with complex needs.
  • Confident working as part of a team but also able to use initiative.
  • Willing to undertake training in moving and handling, first aid, and administering medication.
