If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted good secondary school in Denton.Role Overview:As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers to support the learning and development of students in Maths. Your responsibilities will include:Classroom Assistance: Assisting Maths teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support to students who may require additional help with understanding mathematical concepts or completing tasks.Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare teaching materials, resources, and equipment for Maths lessons, ensuring that classrooms are set up and organised to facilitate effective teaching and learning activities.Student Support: Providing targeted intervention and support to students with varying abilities and learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in Maths.Assessment and Feedback: Assisting teachers in assessing student progress and performance in Maths, providing feedback and encouragement to help students improve their understanding and skills.Behaviour Management: Supporting teachers in managing classroom behaviour during Maths lessons, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and ensure a conducive learning environment for all students.Extracurricular Activities: Getting involved in Maths-related extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes, such as Maths clubs or competitions, to engage students and foster a love for Maths beyond the classroom.Requirements:
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject area, with a strong academic background and a passion for Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting students' learning and development in Maths.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different year groups and support teachers in various Maths-related tasks and activities.
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn and grow as an educational practitioner.
