Freelance, Rolling Contract - up to £500/dayWe're supporting a well-established main contractor who are actively looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, specifically focused on remediation and recladding schemes.This is a freelance opportunity offering a rolling contract, with the chance to work on a growing portfolio of high-rise residential and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will play a key role from tender stage through to final account, ensuring commercial control across all aspects of delivery.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full commercial lifecycle of recladding and remediation projects, from procurement through to final accountPrepare and submit accurate cost plans, budgets, valuations, and forecastsWork closely with the design and project teams to understand scope and ensure accurate pricingSupport with tender and bid submissions, including subcontractor enquiries and package analysisAssess, appoint and manage subcontractor packages, ensuring compliance with project specs and timescalesIdentify and manage risks and variations throughout the lifecycle of the projectEnsure all project costs are tracked and reported in line with internal processesWork closely with legal and client-side teams to support collateral warranties, insurance requirements and contractual complianceKey Requirements:Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a main contractorStrong commercial background in recladding, façade or remediation schemesProven ability to manage costs, change, and contract compliance on complex external worksSound knowledge of JCT contracts, with the ability to administer and negotiate commercial termsFamiliar with the technical and compliance challenges surrounding Building Safety and cladding replacementsDetail-oriented, with strong communication and negotiation skillsAvailable on a freelance basis with short noticeBenefitsFreelance role with ongoing, long-term opportunities.Work on high-profile fire remediation projects across London.Competitive day rate - paying up to £500/dayOpportunity to work with a reputable contractor in the residential sector.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
