- You will join an established C&I capability in the market, but we are looking for someone who has experience and expertise in Control and Instrumentation Systems to establish a new team in Manchester. The team will complement our existing & well-established core engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Process and Systems Engineering) as well as our growing capabilities (Engineering Management, Technology Solutions, and Robotics).
- You will act as technical lead on projects, managing single discipline teams with little oversight to successfully deliver solutions to complex problems to the agreed cost, schedule and quality requirements.
- Have a demonstrable understanding of control and instrumentation engineering design across the full project lifecycle. Experience with key control and instrumentation aspects such as control system architecture development and instrumentation specification and selection.
- Experience or awareness of Process Control Design including Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control, model predictive control (MPC), and advanced process control (APC). Awareness of functional safety standards like BS EN 61508 or BS EN 61511.
- Experience or awareness of Programmable Logical Controller programming and fieldbus protocols. Expertise in electrical design of low voltage (LV) systems and understanding of electrical circuits, EMC precautions, and power supply characteristic.
