£Competitive SalaryIrwin and Colton are pleased to have been engaged with Equans UK & Ireland (one of the leading providers for Facilities Management, Regeneration works, Energy, and technical services) to exclusively recruit their new Health, Safety, and Quality Director. The vacancy will be leading their Places and Communities Division, with oversight of other business units as well. This role will report directly to the CEO of Equans UK&I, as well as leading the central team, advise the Exec, liaise with Group colleagues, deliver business wide projects, and lead any significant investigations within the UK&I liaising with third parties where required. The post holder will also assist the CEO's in supporting and mentoring the wider HS&Q Heads to work effectively together across the business.This role will have a second reporting line to the COO in Places and Communities (P&C) and lead the local SHEQ team supporting all operations and activities. This will include compliance assurance with all regulations and standards for work undertaken, identifying, and delivering solutions to improve HSQ within the division, ensuring the HSQ culture aligns with Group Fundamentals and Safety First is embedded within the division, carrying out necessary reporting and trend analysis.Responsibilities of the Health, Safety, and Quality Director will include:
- Engaging with key stakeholders to drive a positive health and safety culture, from employees right through to board level
- Leading the wider business units in the development and delivery of health and safety strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the health and safety function internally and externally
- Delivery and development of the health and safety management systems to ensure that it reflects best practice
- To analyse risk across the critical working environment and then create and drive strategy to mitigate those risks
- Engages with the wider Group colleagues on global initiatives and programmes, representing the UK&I and supporting subsequent implementation and communication.
- Reviews business wide HS&Q performance regularly, undertakes comparisons/benchmarking with competitors and other industry sources. Reports to the UK&I Exec, Equans Group and external bodies as appropriate.
- Proven experience within property or the built environment, ideally from a corporate background
- Experience in influencing, engaging, and liaising with stakeholders across all levels of organisations, from site through to boardroom
- A NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent) and relevant membership of a professional body (e.g. Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards)
- Good working understanding and implementation of relevant ISO systems (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001)
