We value the provision of reliable maintenance services for your power generation equipment delivered efficiently through our extensive network of service engineers.As a Service Department, the main function is to maintain and support gas powered generation plants, whether that is Power Generation only, Combined Heat & Power or Tri-generation. We have the technical expertise to support the complete Jenbacher gas engine product portfolio and associated balance of plant. We maintain and promote long term customer relationships through our flexible commercial agreements. Across the Clarke Energy group, there are local Service teams providing support in each territory. In the UK, the Service Department is split into two teams, the Service Operations Team and the Aftermarket Sales Team to provide the following service functions to our internal and external customers.Our Field Service Engineers are fully qualified with access to industry specific, accredited training and are expected to utilise both mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge whilst maintaining good customer relationships on a day to day basis. They are adaptable and flexible, doing what needs to be done, at the times and locations required.Engineering ApprenticeshipsAs a Field Service Apprentice the opportunities will be endless. Through college study and on-the-job training, you'll learn about the mechanics and electrics of gas fuelled internal combustion engines and associated CHP plant. - and how to maintain these valuable pieces of kit.By the end of the apprenticeship you will have attained a range of engineering skills that will enable you carry out preventative and reactive maintenance and you will be on track to become a fully qualified Field Service Engineer – earning more than £43,000 per year.Our Advanced Apprenticeship is the perfect way to kick-start a rewarding career with Clarke Energy. This is a structured, four-year scheme that is nationally recognised and includes completing a NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma. From the first day, you'll be doing hands-on work and gaining invaluable experience on placements around the business and developing your knowledge further through tailored, industry specific training.What we look forWe're not necessarily looking for previous working experience of engineering - just commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.To apply for an Advanced Apprenticeship with Clarke Energy, you will however need to:
  • Hold grade C or above in GCSE Maths, English and Science (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate strong verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Have an interest in engineering demonstrated through work experience and/or hobbies.
  • Be willing to travel and work unsociable hours, away from home when required.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Have good IT skills.
Please note:Ideal candidates should be based around the Yorkshire area and the college you will be attending is Leeds City College. Applications will be reviewed by the end of March and successful applicants will be invited to attend an assessment day on the 25th April 2024 at Leeds City College.
