With unparalleled datasets, pioneering technology and expert analysts, we partner with brands and retailers of all sizes, empowering them to reimagine what’s possible, and change the landscape to create a better, healthier, more sustainable and inclusive world.Job DetailsWhy this job is importantThe Shop and Scan Purchase Panel is Worldpanel UK’s largest panel and has been running for 30 years providing industry-leading data through the continuous collection of shopping trips with each of the 30,000 households that are on the panel scanning barcodes on all products purchased in each trip.The Senior Application Support Developer will join a small but critically important team as the stack they support grows and develops to support both the redevelopment of the Shop And Scan and the rollout of the strategically important * platform.We’re looking for a flexible, thorough individual, comfortable with supporting the current (and future) database production process as well as championing new developments and approaches relating to the ongoing project on the redevelopment of our Shop and Scan website.Responsibilities will also include BAU support and development of multiple bespoke internally developed applications, liaising directly with the Operations team on support and development matters, and collaborating with the wider System Support application team. What you’ll be doing
  • Assist the Application Manager in development projects and business-as-usual (BAU) support.
  • Take ownership of development requests, actively progress them, and proactively triage and resolve support tickets.
  • Collaboratively work with both the business Operations teams and the wider System Support team to meet and exceed application requirements, offering new solutions where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively across a variety of areas, balancing competing priorities and managing relationships with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of key priorities.
The skills & experience needed as Senior Application Support Developer
  • University Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent fields.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of previous experience in full-stack development roles – preferably in application development.
  • Proficiency in Front-End web development primarily with JS, HTML5 and CSS.
  • Proficiency in Back-End development with ASP.NET, .NET and C#.
  • Experienced with GIT for code versioning.
  • Comfortable with MS SQL Server.
  • Familiar with Azure Development environments – preferably on Azure DevOps and Azure boards.
  • Experienced with API development – preferably in MS Azure environment.
  • Experienced on 3rd party API development.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting a wide range of services.
  • Familiar with both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.
