- Commitment to complete and maintain Mandatory training and required laboratory competences
- Ability to plan, prioritise and allocate work and work under pressure.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Prepared to work flexibly including participation in weekend and evening work and out of hours rota as required
- Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, QPulse, LIMS etc)
- Ability to Lead a Team
- Effective Communication skills, written and oral
- Evidence of effective time management skills and with a methodical approach
- Ability to motivate oneself and other staff
- Ability to deliver new services
- Extensive experience in a UKAS accredited clinical (Blood Sciences) Laboratory.
- Experience with a wide range of Blood Sciences Diagnostic techniques
- Experience in application and monitoring of UKAS standards.
- Experience in demonstrating leadership qualities
- FIBMS or MSc (in Discipline or equivalent) or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma (Blood Sciences) or level 7 Apprenticeship or equivalent extensive experience with a commitment to obtain a level 7 qualification.
- HCPC Registration
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- IBMS Specialist portfolio (Blood Sciences) or other BMS (Blood Sciences) specialist qualification
- Further Management training.
