This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn and progress in the field of Business Management while studying towards ACA/ACCA, with a fully funded study package (including time off to attend courses and exams).The duties will involve providing accurate accounting and assurance services to a diverse range of clients, as directed by the Manager, within budget and in accordance with firm procedures.Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Inputting data using various software packages such as Sage, Excel, and QuickBooks Online
  • Setting up bank payments
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Recording receipts and reconciling cash/credit card receipts
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Assisting with periodic management accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of cash flows and budgets
  • Assisting in managing tour accounts for clients
  • Analysing bank statements
  • Maintaining client confidentiality at all times, in accordance with Sopher + Co HR Policies & Procedures
  • Becoming familiar with, and working in accordance with, Sopher + Co HR Policies & Procedures
About youYou will be confident in working to a high standard, have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to your work. Additionally, we’d like you to have/be:
  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within an accountancy firm
  • Competent using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritise work
  • Working towards a professional qualification (desired)
  • Ideally hold either a relevant degree in accountancy, economics or similar subject
  • Excellent work ethics and eagerness to learn
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and be able to use their own initiative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • A can-do attitude to problem-solving
