- Lead the planning, implementation, and management of comprehensive security programs to protect NBCUniversal employees, assets, facilities, intellectual property, and reputation across the EMEA region.
- Review, monitor, and provide security advice for corporate events, news, sports, TV, and film productions as required.
- Deliver specialist security support for news operations and deployments, including hostile environments, encompassing threat analysis, risk assessment, safety equipment management, and operational deployment of PPE, medical, and safety gear.
- Provide out-of-hours security support as part of the on-call roster.
- Oversee risk assessments and ensure compliance with NBCUniversal Physical Security Design Standards for all facilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Global Response and Intelligence Centre (GRIC) and other intelligence sources to provide timely threat updates and security responses domestically and internationally.
- Liaise with NBCUniversal International EHS, IT, HR, GRE, and Facilities teams to deliver security advice and support.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders and stakeholders to address security issues effectively.
- Manage third-party security providers - including landlord guards, CCTV, advisory services, executive protection, training, and equipment procurement - ensuring compliance with contracts and company standards.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management planning in coordination with the NBCU International Business Continuity Director.
- Engage with local law enforcement and government agencies on security and investigative matters.
- Lead investigations of security incidents, coordinating with senior leadership, legal teams, and executive management to recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver security awareness programs tailored to regional staff needs.
- Deputise for the Senior Director Security, News, when required.
- Extensive professional experience in military, law enforcement, corporate security, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of corporate security principles, including risk and vulnerability assessments, incident response, intrusion detection, security governance, and policy development.
- Recent hands-on experience operating in remote, high-risk, or hostile environments.
- Proven ability to analyse complex intelligence and synthesise actionable security advice under pressure.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable operating in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
- Certified or experienced in first aid and trauma care, especially in resource-limited contexts.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of briefing and advising senior executives with clarity and authority.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Strong knowledge of international politics and geography, with relevant international work experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including to high-risk locations, often on short notice.
- Experience providing security services to media organisations and managing security programs in a media environment.
- Proven ability to work independently, show initiative, and provide pragmatic solutions within complex corporate structures.
- Extensive international security network, particularly across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
- Experience working with senior executives and high-profile talent in a security capacity.
- Demonstrated success as part of globally dispersed security teams.
