- Analyse blueprints, project drawings, and site specifications to create cost models that influence project outcomes.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the most competitive and reliable pricing.
- Work closely with the Project Management team to align budgets and tracking metrics with client goals.
- Participate in weekly team or client meetings to update on project estimations and progress.
- Conduct site visits or off-site assessments where necessary to collect relevant project details.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and records of quotes, estimates, and adjustments.
- Stay informed of market trends and pricing impacts to maintain accuracy in forecasting.
- Support bids and tender processes with well-documented and compelling proposals.
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial fit-out and office construction projects.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to assess scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
- Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality assurance.
- Prepare and present cost summaries, tender documents, and bid proposals to clients or internal stakeholders.
- Track and adjust estimates for changing project requirements or market conditions.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within projects and suggest value engineering options.
- Keep updated on industry prices for materials, labour, and services.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process.
- Foster professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and external partners to support the success of each project.
- Previous experience (3+ years) as an Estimator, preferably within the commercial fit-out, office, or construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost factors.
- Proficiency with estimation software and tools; familiarity with industry-standard tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong problem-solving orientation and decision-making abilities.
- Degree or diploma in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
