If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.Senior Site ManagerSouthamptonWhat you will be doing:An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Site Manager to join the team at Southern Water, a Galliford Try business.You will be located in the Southampton area primarily based on the key project site office for a large cross country pipeline project.What you will be doing:
- Knowledge of and has some experience of managing contractual/sub-contractual interfaces on site
- Basic understanding of financial/budget constraints; manages and monitors projects to budget
- Basic understanding of contract requirements, obligations, roles and responsibilities; ensures contract requirements are communicated to site teams
- Knowledge of planning and programming; liaises with the planner to develop and manage programmes, manages site operations to meet milestones and monitors and reports on progress
- Responsible for overall management of site delivery resources, sub-contractors, labour, plant and materials on site
- Liaises with Site Agent/Manager, Sub Agent and Foremen on resource requirements
- Liaises with client's representative and sub-contractors
- Responsible for temporary work designs
- Management responsibility: for health, safety and environmental technical principles related to assigned projects
- Ability to manage resources
- Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiastic demeanour and exhibit drive and the desire to progress
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of managing and working at site agent/manager (minimum 5 years)
- Industry qualifications, HNC/D or higher
- Good understanding of engineering / construction principles and practices
- Understanding of legislation and standards
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (or similar engineering industry)
- Application of CDM Health and Safety duties including understanding and managing design and technical risk
- CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, IOSH in Environmental or equivalent
- Good general IT skills including software using MS Excel and document management systems
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to concisely present information
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Demonstrable ability to manage people
