HGV Breakdown Technician (Days and Late Shift - Negotiable)
  • Location: Southampton - Mobile & Roadside Across Hampshire
  • Salary: Negotiable
Shift Options:
  • Days: Shift pattern negotiable.
  • Late Shift: 18:00 - 03:30 Monday - Friday (40 hours per week).
  • Overtime Available: Paid after 45 hours, with additional bonus rates for weekend overtime.
Our client, a long-established Commercial Vehicle Main Dealer with over 30 years of trading experience, is seeking an HGV Breakdown Technician for their Southampton branch.They work with a range of haulage businesses and commercial enterprises, offering exceptional service, whether it's vehicle purchasing or fleet maintenance. As an HGV Breakdown Technician, you'll play a crucial role in providing fast and effective support, ensuring vehicles stay on the road.This role is ideal for experienced HGV Technicians with a strong background in maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs, looking for flexibility and progression opportunities.What's in it for you as an HGV Breakdown Technician?

Duties of an HGV Breakdown Technician with our Client:
  • Respond to breakdown callouts and carry out roadside repairs.
  • Service vehicles and perform routine maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on HGVs, lorries, and vans.
  • Advise service receptionists regarding required repairs and time estimates.
  • Maintain repair and service records.
  • Replace and repair faulty parts and components as needed.
What our client expects of their HGV Breakdown Technician:
  • Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or time-served in HGV mechanics.
  • Experience working on HGVs, lorries, or vans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Licence preferred).
