English Teacher - Secondary School - HackneyLong Term Futures are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Hackney to appoint a qualified English Teacher for the start of the new academic year.The school holds a strong reputation locally for academic excellence, pastoral care and staff wellbeing. With a well-established English department and supportive SLT, the school is looking for an experienced or early-career teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging and impactful lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.This is a full-time teaching role, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position following a successful initial period.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, following the national curriculum
  • Plan, assess and differentiate to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum planning and collaborative teaching approach
  • Support students' academic progress and literacy development
  • Participate in whole-school CPD, meetings and enrichment activities
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and classroom standards
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level, including GCSE
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for language, literature and literacy development
  • A desire to grow within a supportive, ambitious school community
