Job Title: Metal Finishing Technician/ Electroplater (trainees considered)Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience plus overtimeLocation: Ramsgate, KentAeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Metal Finishing Technician/ Electroplater (trainees or experienced candidates will be considered for this role) to be based at their site in Ramsgate.Established more than 60 years ago, the company employ more than 21,000 employees in 35 different countries. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment.This position will be working day shifts.Main Responsibilities:
  • Working in the MPBU Metal Finishing section with the following processes, Chrome, Nickel, Cadmium, Silver, Tin, Copper, Phosphate, Heat Treatment, Non Destructive Testing (Nital Etch) and other associated processes.
  • Daily tasks include electroplating a variety of components from a wide selection of different aircraft platforms. Plating processes include Cadmium, Nickel, Chrome, Silver, Tin, Copper and Phosphate.
  • Help monitor and maintain stock levels of chemicals and consumables.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly control checks.
  • Maintain the 5S standard required.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained in accordance with EASA, FAA and company procedures.
  • Ensure you are working in accordance with the relevant Environmental, Health and Safety requirements for working in MPBU, specifically the plating bay.
