About usWe are looking to recruit a School Crossing Patrol to join our dedicated team of patrols.School Crossing Patrols form part of the larger Traffic Management, Road Safety and Highway Adoptions team.The roleThe role of a School Crossing Patrol is to safely stop traffic to allow all pedestrians (adults and children) to cross the road safely at designated patrol sites. Whilst ensuring stringent operational procedures are adhered to.You will undertake your duties over a split morning and afternoon shift during the school term time only.What's needed?Delivering a quality service is a priority and this high profile, public facing position is key to that. As such we are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and has excellent interpersonal skills. Previous customer service or direct engagement experience is essential along with excellent communication skills. You should also understand the Highway Code and be aware how to assess and record risks.In addition, you should have a flexible approach and be able to physically manage the challenges of standing for lengthy periods of time, in all weather conditions. You will be required to be an excellent timekeeper and be able to follow instruction.You will be issued with a full uniform that you must always use on duty. You are also responsible for your uniform and equipment's correct use and safe storage.The post requires an Enhanced DBS clearance.BenefitsAs well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:
