The Head of Pay & Reward will lead the development and implementation of pay and reward strategies within the public sector. This temporary role focuses on delivering effective remuneration frameworks to support organisational goals.
  • Manage the annual pay award process, including pay modelling options, and taking the lead and proactively engaging with Trade Unions.
  • Develop and implement pay and reward strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Lead on the design and delivery of remuneration frameworks and incentive schemes.
  • Provide expert advice on pay structures, job evaluation, and market benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to address workforce planning needs.
  • Ensure compliance with public sector regulations and policies.
  • Analyse and report on pay and reward data to inform decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and service providers.
  • Monitor and adapt reward strategies to meet changing organisational needs.

  • Proven expertise in pay and reward within the public sector or civil service.
  • Excellent understanding of excel - v-look ups, pivot tables, formulas.
  • Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies and market benchmarking.
  • Experience in developing and implementing remuneration frameworks.
  • Knowledge of public sector policies and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders effectively.

  • Hourly rate of approximately £33.00 - £38.00, depending on experience.
