ABOUT THE ROLEA Service Charge Accountant who is responsible for managing service charge reconciliations for a diverse property portfolio consisting of commercial, industrial & retail properties.The role will require regular and direct communication with our client accountants and external auditors, to ensure the completion of service charge reconciliations in line with the lease and RICS requirements.WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLEThe role requires completion of Service Charge reconciliations of varying complexity and size. You will have experience in reconciling large data sets.To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills as well as good team working skills and a desire to learn and develop within your role.Other duties will include:
  • Reconciliation of large, complex data sets
  • Monitoring of deadlines and reporting of/escalation of delays as appropriate
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Liaising with clients as required
  • Ensuring Service Charge budgets are received and uploaded in line with internal and regulatory KPI’s
  • Updating control spreadsheets
  • Any other duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounting department.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOUA proactive, practical, and positive approach to work is required. You should be self motivated and thrive from working autonomously and managing your own workload.Previous experience working in a Client Accounting or Service Charge role within the real estate industry.Excellent and professional communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with your colleagues, both within accounts and the Property Managers.Accounting qualification such as AAT or ACCA is preferred.Minimum requirements are:
  • Math's & English G.C.S.E 9-4/A-C
  • Good Numeracy Skills
  • IT & Software Skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
