We are working with an established System Integrator company based in Leicestershire, UK.They are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join their team.In return for a salary up to £50.000 + Overtime.Our Client are a UK conveyor systems manufacturer, providing automation solutions, specializing in the design, integration, and installation of control systems for complex logistics operations.As part of ongoing expansion, they are looking for an experienced and skilled Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicestershire.You will be required to handle technically demanding projects and automation business.The successful candidate will be primarily working with conveyors and handling equipment.Our Client are a straightforward company whose main concerns lie in the simplicity of design and attention to detail and are particularly interested in candidates who can prove an ability to complete projects on time and to budget following bespoke customer specifications.You will be following all projects from concept to completion ensuring they are fulfilled in a sustainable manner.Ideally, the successful Controls Engineer will have good knowledge of Siemens S7/ TIA portal PLC with Ladder and Structured Text, coding to IEC 61131-3 standards.Flexibility to travel is essential as this role involves travel around mainly UK and some projects.Key Responsibilities include:
  • PLC programming through Ladder Logic, including programming of, and integration with, HMI devices, using Siemens S7-1500 and S7-1200 series PLCs and Siemens TIA portal.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of existing PLC and HMI systems
  • Hardware commissioning and integration of I/O modules
  • Working collaboratively with mechanical engineers, designers, and other staff
  • Help set-up and maintain development, test and production environment
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and best practice at all times
  • Strong communication skills and ability to use MS Office Suite.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years’ experience in PLC and HMI programming (predominantly Siemens, with occasional Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi)
  • Good experience in Siemens S7-1200/ 1500 PLC programming using Simatic STEP 7 TIA or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Automation Products and communication Protocols like Profibus, Profinet, ASi, TCP/IP etc.
  • Exposure to HTML and JavaScript an advantage.
  • Education in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Ability to works as an individual or as part of a team
  • Experience with motors, sensors and linear drives.
  • Reading/ understanding of Electric Drawings
  • Capability of sourcing new products and solution in world of automatization.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel/ commission Projects – up to 50%
