We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Breast Care Nursing team as a Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist based at Gartnavel General Hospital, with cross-site responsibilities at the New Victoria Hospital.The successful candidate will report to and work under the supervision of the Senior Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in the breast cancer service. The responsibilities will include managing a caseload of patients and supporting them through complex treatment options from the diagnosis of early breast cancer to secondary disease. Following relevant training, the post-holder will be expected to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of care for breast cancer patients. Exceptional communication skills are essential for engaging with patients, carers, and a diverse range of healthcare professionals. The ability to work effectively and flexibly is paramount. Additionally, the role requires the capacity to work autonomously, make clinical decisions and judgements, and provide specialist expertise at diagnostic clinics. Applicants must be Registered Nurses on the NMC register and possess acute clinical experience relevant to the role, along with evidence of continued professional development. This position requires PVG Scheme Membership.
