
Challenging Behaviours TA

- You will be working with pupils who may be at risk of exclusion, have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups within the classroom and during unstructured times.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
- Using de-escalation techniques and consistent routines to manage incidents and reduce disruption.
- Building trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and offering emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.
- Encouraging engagement in education and celebrating small milestones in a pupil's personal or learning journey.
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural challenges, ideally in an education, care, or community setting.
- Are emotionally resilient and able to remain calm and composed during behavioural incidents.
- Can build rapport quickly and maintain a patient and non-judgemental attitude.
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
- A long-term contract with consistent full-time hours (term-time only).
- A supportive and experienced education consultant who will work with you throughout your placement.
- Access to high-quality CPD and training opportunities relevant to the role.
