SALARY: £13.20 - £13.90 per hour/ £26,769 - £28,189 per annum - Sleep ins paid at £62.64 working out to an extra £3000-£6000 per annumHours: Full time working long days and sleep insFull UK Driving licence is required.We are looking for an experienced, resilient children's support worker to become part of our family home, caring for young males who have sometimes complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.What do you need?
  • Experience and qualifications in care or transferable skills such as police, education, security or working with vulnerable people.
  • A high level of emotional resilience is required and the ability remain calm during challenging situations.
  • Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
  • Passionate about supporting our young people, be a positive role model.
  • Full UK Driving licence is essential.
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins.
As a therapeutic support worker you will:
  • Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a registered manager.
  • Act as a positive role model to to give encouragement and praise.
  • Enjoy fun days out such as swimming, go karting, skating, fishing and revisit missed milestones.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
  • Build friendships and trusting relationships, believe in them.
  • Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
  • Empower them to make decisions about themselves
