Orkney is often voted one of the best places to live in the UK.Set in the picturesque harbour town of Stromness, we have a vacancy in our small but supportive team for a Salaried GP/Partner to work 6-8 sessions per week, at a rate of £10,000 per session per year.With views as far as the eyes can see, stunning beaches and miles-upon-miles of coastline, youll always find your own space in Orkney. With this, it is no surprise that Orkney has been voted the best place to live in Scotland for eight years running.Our busy practice operates under a General Medical Services contract with NHS Orkney and has a caseload of 3100 patients. Our team comprises of GP partners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, an Administration team, and we are supported by a wider team of NHS Pharmacists, Community Nurses, Health Visitors, Physiotherapists and Mental Health Nurses, of whom we have excellent relationships with. We are also a SCOTGem Training Practice hosting medical students, as well as regularly hosting a GP, under the Rural Fellowship Scheme.We would love to hear from experienced GPs, but we would also welcome interest from those who are earlier in their GP career seeking the challenge and opportunity to widen their clinical skillset by providing holistic care in remote and rural healthcare.There is prospect to undertake specialist Diving Medicine, including hyperbaric work, with full training provided including Consultant support from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hyperbaric Medicine Unit.
