
Commissioning and Aftersales Technician

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
Commissioning new boats - in the UK and Europe, responsible for the day-to-day commissioning process, ensuring the highest standard of workmanship and customer experience.
- Arrival checks - unwrapping the boat; carrying out detailed checks against factory specification; fitting all loose equipment; reporting any shortfalls and warranty defects.
- Testing - carry out thorough operational testing of all onboard systems including plumbing, electrical systems including navigation, engines and gensets as well as all other mechanical systems.
- Onboard contractors - oversight, ensuring they work to high standards.
- Reporting/recording - document defects with technical summary and photographs, update progress via an interactive reporting App, and follow through to conclusion.
- Sea trials - carrying out sea trials to check all systems and sails underway.
- Handover - provide a detailed handover to the client, including full systems demonstration and sea trial in line with company guidelines. Ensure all documentation is completed and returned as required.
- Owner/crew support - refresher training and boat handling.
- Warranty - carrying out diagnostics and repairs across the UK and Europe.
- Reporting - provide clear technical evidence and photographs for warranty analysis and reclaim.
- Annual inspections - as per factory protocols to maintain warranty.
- General duties - assist with shared functions and any other tasks to ensure smooth operation of the department, including good housekeeping of shed/stores and associated workspaces.
- Work must be carried out in accordance with the company's Health & Safety policy.
- Recent and relevant working knowledge within the leisure marine industry is essential.
- Proficient boat handling skills, ideally motor & sail. RYA qualifications are an advantage.
- Boat building skills/qualifications are desirable. A keen eye for detail is essential.
- Good understanding of modern boat systems, with electrical fault finding and digital switching knowledge required.
- Strong initiative, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must hold a current UK driver's licence.
