Background –You will be working for a dynamic and pioneering organisation at the forefront of change and innovation within primary care. With significant support available from a sizeable back-office team as well as outstanding investment into ARRS-funded roles, you will be well-backed and able to develop a long-term career, with the leadership keen to help GPs realise their aspirations through bespoke created personal development plans.This is a new partnership between the practice and the local hospitals, appreciative of the increase in popularity of portfolio careers where GPs are looking to combine two or more positions.You would work 4 or more sessions in General Practice with an additional 2-4 sessions working in the Oncology department. Working alongside Oncologists, Trainees, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Admin staff, you’ll be responsible for supporting patients suitable for GP input. The hospital has recognised the benefit that GPs can bring to patients in hospital given your excellent assessment and communication skills.A previous, developed interest in Oncology is not required to apply for this role.
Forever keen to attract new GPs to the area, Tier 2 visa sponsorship and an attractive relocation package are also both available with both newly qualifying and established GPs encouraged to apply.Salary – £11,600-£15,000 per session + Indemnity paid, NHS pension, electric car scheme, 6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, up to £10,000 relocation assistanceLocation – Yeovil (GP work can be in other locations in Somerset)The practice –

Your role –
  • Salaried GP with portfolio role in Oncology
  • 4 or more General Practice sessions
  • AskmyGP appointment system leaving you in control of your day
  • 2-4 Oncology sessions (weekdays and within typical GP hours)
  • Review and supervise patients on cancer treatments
  • Support the Clinical Nurse Specialists on ward rounds
  • Participate in pre-clinic huddles where patients attending upcoming clinics are discussed to ensure the correct plan is in place for their treatment
  • Attend MDT meetings to support education
