- Able to use excellent communication skills to communicate at all levels with a variety of people in a professional manner.
- Act as a role model and provide leadership to a team of staff.
- Responsible for ensuring high standards of safe and effective care to our patients, working according to Trust policies and within your Code of Practice
- Able to manage the day to day challenges of ward based working within a sub-acute unit.
- Work closely within MDT, prioritising safe and effective discharges.
- Have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload.
- Be a good decision maker, and able to work calmly under pressure.
- Manage staff sickness and poor performance.
- Responsible for supervision of staff and acting as practice assessor to students and new staff.

- You will work within your code of practice adhering to trust policies
- You will have an active role with budgetary management and will be expected to attend appropriate meeting

- Minimum 2 years at Band 5
- Evidence of personal development
- Experience of team leadership
- Nursing degree
- Leadership qualification
- Good knowledge of stroke and neuro conditions
- Evidence of ABCDE / BLS competence
- Awareness of Stroke guidelines
- Experience of post-thrombolysis care
- Understanding of SAFER process, ability to think/plan ahead
- Experience of Trust computer systems and electronic assessments
- Mandatory training up to date
- Extended skills, venepuncture and cannulation
- Male and female catheterisation
- NG insertion and care.
- Knowledge of PEG care
- Current NMC registration
- Minimum 2 years at Band 5
