We are on an exciting growth journey to become the UK’s most loved retirement expert.About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solicitor and Business Partner, to join Just Group, supporting the Group General Counsel and Legal Leadership Team in achieving our strategic objectives (from a Legal perspective) by collaborating with key senior leaders and managers, ensuring a first class commercial and legal serviceKey ResponsibilitiesProvide autonomous high calibre legal support and expertise to the businesses and group functions within the Just Group, with varying degrees of complexity, including but not limited to legal advice, drafting, negotiating, influencing and support in relation to complex transactional matters, business requests, contractsAssist with the management and timely delivery of project related activity, as appropriateRaise the business’s awareness of legal risk management issues (including relevant developments in the legal and regulatory framework, ensuring that adequate internal process controls are applied and reported to identify, manage and mitigate areas of legal riskProvide high calibre, solution focused legal support and expertise, commensurate with experience, to all business and functional stakeholders in relation to a broad range of Just Group activitiesManage, advise upon, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements relating to the business and functions’ needs and requirementsAs appropriate, to assist with the management of external law firms (in relation to particular projects/instructions) and ensure responsive, cost effective and solution-focused advice is delivered to the businessAssist in the development of the businesses’ legal precedent library and miscellaneous practice and guidance notesWork collegiately with other members of the Legal Team, promoting cooperation, trust and teamwork across the broader Legal DepartmentSkills and Experience:Qualified Solicitor or BarristerPost-qualification legal experience in the financial services sectorExperience providing legal advice within a number of the following areas: regulatory, life insurance, consumer insurance, data protection, IT property/mortgages, financing, securitisation, commercial contracts and distribution arrangements desirable but not essentialAbility to remain confident and adaptable in difficult circumstancesA problem solver and skilled communicatorCompany BenefitsA Competitive Salary, Pension Scheme and Life AssuranceAlong with 25 Days Annual Leave plus an Additional Day on us for your BirthdayPrivate Medical Cover and Income Protection, just in caseA generous and highly achievable bonus scheme – paid annually based on individual and company performance against targetsOpportunity to progress within your career both in-role and within the companyFREE access to the Headspace App, a 24/7 Employee Assistance Helpline and Trained Physical & Mental Health First Aiders (On-Site)A variety of Employee Funded Benefits available to you via our Online Benefits PortalPlus, several additional purchase options available for you and your loved onesWhy Just?At Just you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career, whilst making a difference to the lives of those around you.
