Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + CommissionWe’re looking for a Technical Onboarding Consultant to join a high-performing consulting team, responsible for delivering seamless onboarding experiences for new clients. From day one, you’ll act as the trusted technical advisor, owning the client relationship post-sale and ensuring their technical needs are fully understood and addressed.Working closely with internal pre-sales, service desk, and account management functions, you’ll play a crucial role in building long-term partnerships by identifying opportunities to add value across client environments. This is an ideal role for a hands-on technical professional – perhaps from a service desk or infrastructure background – looking to step into a client-facing, consultative role with a strong blend of delivery, onboarding, and relationship management.Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical onboarding of new clients once initial project scopes are signed off by the pre-sales team.
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders from day one.
- Understand client infrastructures, pain points, and requirements, ensuring smooth integration into our clients managed services.
- Act as the bridge between technical delivery teams and clients during the initial engagement phase.
- Identify potential areas for service improvement or expansion; collaborate with the account management team to feed these back.
- Manage onboarding for 7–8 clients concurrently, across the UK & Ireland (occasional travel to Europe).
- Contribute to internal process improvements and help shape the onboarding journey.
- Previous experience in a technical role such as service desk analyst, infrastructure engineer, or similar.
- A strong technical generalist with good understanding across networks, infrastructure, and cloud technologies.
- Confident in front of clients; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset – comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding the right solution.
- Experience in client onboarding or transitional service delivery would be a strong advantage.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK & Ireland (with some overnight stays).
