The post is a new role following approval of expansion of consultant body to provide gynae cover during on call. The successful candidate will have exposure to both Obstetrics and Gyanecology with interest in Colposcopy, ambulatory care.The post is planned for10 PAs.Main duties of the jobThis Job will provide clinical services across Southeast London as we continue to expand our activity across Kent. We provide outpatient and inpatient care on the Queen Mary's Hospital site in Sidcup, and will be expanding antenatal care in to the community as well. The provisional make-up of the post is described below, pending any changes that are agreed with the Clinical Director and the appointee, within 3 months of appointment. These weeks (or portions thereof) can be swapped but leave cannot be taken during them.1.25 PA (averaged) for the hot weeks.1.75 PA for flexible emergency cover (evenings and weekends)0.25 PA for unpredictable on-call5.25 PAs for other daytime work.   • Full GMC registration
  • MRCOG or equivalent
  • CCT or equivalent ( or within 6 months of CCT)
  • Advance Labour Ward ATSM or equivalent
Desirable
  • Subspecialist training in Fetal Maternal Medicine or equivalent ATSM in Antenatal Care/ High Risk Pregnancy or equivalent
  • ATSM in Labour Ward Lead.
  • ATSM in Fetal medicine
Clinical experience and effectivenessEssential
  • oClinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCT
  • Experience of clinical risk management, audit and research.
  • Experience in general gynaecological emergencies and a readiness to take part in the obstetric duty rota to start with
Management and administrative experienceEssential
  • Evidence of management and administrative experience.
Desirable
  • Attendance at management training course.
  • Evidence of involvement in Obstetric Governance and Risk Management, and Maternity Transformation Programme
Teaching and training experienceEssential
  • Wide experience of supervising junior medical staff and teaching and training junior medical staff and midwives/nurses

  • Documented evidence of teaching and training courses attended
  • Experience in role as educational supervisor
