IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE A SOLID BACKGROUND IN A MACHINING / CNC ENVIRONMENT OR PRECISION MEHANICAL ENGINEERING. This is due to the company quality control measures.In this role you will report to the Quality Manager and primarily liaise directly with the production team to provide support and guidance to process improvements.Main DutiesEnsure procedures are updated and developed to achieve best practiceEnsuring that all customer specifications are met and maintained, that quality planning and process documentation is organisedWhile conducting internal data analysis, ensure that all internal NCRs are raised and documented - using various problem solving techniques to review and resolve these issues in a timely manner, escalating where necessaryEnsure that customer complaints are validated and that corrective actions are robust using common quality tools such as 8D and 5 whysAdminister applications for concessions, waivers and production permitsIdentify, analyse and resolve or recommend effective solutions to a range of problemsAdditional DutiesUnderstand the direct creation, controls, and input of data from drawings, standards, and specifications into the company MRP. This is for use in process control sheets, batch routing and FAIR'sWork on any other tasks undertaken by the Quality department as directedMonitor quality KPIs and assist to construct a monthly reportMonitor suppliers performance and assist the buyer with approval ratingsMonitor and ensure the system audit schedules (Quality & Environmental) are maintainedCandidates AttitudeStrong interpersonal, influential and organisational skills are essentialThe ability to communicate, be comfortable speaking with a wide range of staff, customers, and suppliers in person and by telephone, in writing and in meetingsAn understanding for the need to continually maintain confidentiality and discretionSkillsDemonstrable experience with problem resolution and root cause analysisHave hands on experience of reading and understanding technical drawings, symbols, revisions and specificationsComputer literate / confident with a willingness to learn new skillsSelf-motivated, versatile and able to work without supervision in a multi-functional team environmentENGINEERED METALLIC COMPONENTS (TURNED / MILLED) OR RELATED AEROSPACE BACKGROUNDKnowledge and experience of using precision measuring equipmentMeticulous approach to measurement, comparison with standards and monitoring of processesTraining will be be provided for the right candidate where applicable.
