
Senior Fire Engineer

- The successful Fire Engineer will have a minimum of an Engineering degree, and is a member of the IFE.
- An MSc/ MEng in related fire or engineering subjects would be desirable.
- Previous experience within a related role.
- Applying core fire engineering principles, regulatory framework, codes and standards) on simple fire safety design projects.
- Develop peripheral Core Technical Knowledge e.g. product knowledge and testing standards through observation, shadowing of more senior engineers and self-development.
- Site visits and client / project team meetings.
- Put forward solutions based on codes, standards, technical evidence and previous work / case studies.
- Undertake self-analysis of technical development needs and actively seek out support to address knowledge shortfall.
- Suggest new, and seek out opportunities on existing research and development projects.
- Project manage small schemes from inception to completion (under the direction of a Project Director), including the preparation of fee proposals.
- Assist more senior engineers to develop detailed fee proposals on complex projects.
