- Championing safety and compliance with SHEQ policies.
- Leading by example and ensuring team and third-party adherence to depot standards.
- Communicating regularly with your line manager and supporting the Charge-hand.
- Performing fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Keeping meticulous records and documentation.
- Reporting on faults, repairs, and incidents-both verbally and in writing.
- Driving continuous improvement in reliability, productivity, and quality.
- Supporting training and professional development initiatives.
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- Strong resource management and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to drive road vehicles as needed.
- Ability to meet maintenance programme deadlines.
- Must meet and maintain the required medical standards.
- Solid understanding of health & safety, risk management, and COSHH.
- Familiarity with stores and inventory processes.
- PTS certification.
- Dual Trade competency in Mechanical/Electrical systems.
- Previous experience in the rail industry.
- 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
