Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 DOEChadwick Nott are pleased to be working with a well-regarded South West law firm, currently seeking a Head of Litigation to join their Plymouth office. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE and a strong background in general litigation, property disputes, and contentious probate. Experience in personal injury is desirable but not essential.The Role
This is a strategic and hands-on position, offering the chance to lead a busy litigation department and shape its future direction. Responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a varied caseload across litigation, property, and contentious probate
- Leading and supporting the litigation team to ensure high standards of service delivery
- Advising clients on complex legal matters and providing practical, solutions-focused guidance
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
- Building strong client relationships and enhancing the firm's reputation
- Driving business development and departmental growth
- Mentoring and supervising junior team members
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with:
- Minimum 5 years' PQE in litigation
- Strong technical knowledge across general litigation, property disputes, and contentious probate
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
