A well-established veterinary team is seeking an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon to join their expanding group. While a full-time role is available, flexible working arrangements will also be considered.
  • Salary range of £40,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
  • Standard rota includes a 5-day week
  • On-call duties of 1 night every 2 weeks
  • Weekend cover at 1.5 in 8 weekends

The team is known for being friendly, collaborative, and supportive. Regular well-being meetings are held, and the group frequently organizes social and charity events, including participation in annual fundraising activities.Out-of-Hours and On-Call Structure:
  • In-house out-of-hours service is appreciated by clients and structured to minimize impact on vets
  • Following a night on call, the next day is given off
  • On-site accommodation is available during on-call shifts
  • Overnight RVNs provide substantial support, making the on-call vet's role more manageable
  • Vets gain valuable emergency and critical care experience due to in-house out-of-hours service
  • 8-week rota cycle provides excellent work-life planning
  • OOH telephone answering service in place - vets are not required to answer phones directly
  • Recent graduates receive additional OOH support
  • Remote CCTV access allows for inpatient monitoring
  • Typical OOH rota includes:
o One weekend of Friday on-call, Saturday morning work, Sunday on-call, with Monday and Tuesday off
o One Saturday on-call with the preceding Friday off, followed by six weekends off
Full-time vets on-call typically work a mix of 3, 4, and 5-day weeks across the cycle, with only two 5-day weeks per 8-week period. Additional time off is available, and alternative working patterns can be discussed.Benefits (Pro Rata):
