
Court of Protection Solicitor

- Manage a caseload of health and welfare Court of Protection matters, including s.21A and s.16 applications.
- Attend clients, take instructions, prepare cases and conduct legal research
- Ensure compliance with file management and regulatory requirements
- Draft applications, statements and court documentation, and where appropriate, conduct advocacy
- Support the Head of Department and collaborate on strategic planning and service development
- Engage in business development and build professional relationships to drive growth
- Work empathetically with clients and their families, often in sensitive and challenging situations
- Maintain accurate time recording and billing processes
- Proactively implement feedback from file reviews
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a current, clean practising certificate
- Proven experience in Court of Protection health and welfare cases
- Sound understanding of Mental Capacity Act 2005 and related case law
- Public and/or privately funded case experience essential
- Advocacy experience is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational, time management, and analytical skills
- Professional and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable individuals
- Experience or interest in business development and marketing is desirable
