Are you a skilled and versatile handyman looking for a stable, long-term contract? We're seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a busy new build housing site in South Otterington. This is a crucial role focusing on pre-plaster works, making it a perfect fit for a proactive and detail-oriented operative.About the Role:As a handyman, you'll play a vital role in preparing our new build homes to the highest standard before plastering and decorating. Your broad skill set and attention to detail will be essential. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Pre-Plaster Preparation: Meticulously preparing properties for plastering, including boarding, taping, and general readiness tasks.
  • Minor Fixings: Skillfully installing various fixings and battens using cordless power tools (drills, impact drivers, etc.).
  • Silicone Finishes: Applying precise silicone finishes to window frames, door frames, and other areas where required.
  • Assisting Trades: Providing support to plasterers, joiners, and other trades as needed, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Material Management: Moving and organizing materials efficiently around the plots.
  • Site Upkeep: Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment within the properties and surrounding areas.
  • Adhering strictly to all site health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:We need a candidate who is:
  • Experienced: Proven experience as a Handyman or a similar finishing role on new build housing sites.
  • Handy with Tools: Highly competent and experienced in using various cordless power tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: Possesses an excellent eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
  • Reliable & Proactive: Punctual, highly motivated, and able to work independently and efficiently.
  • Team Player: Able to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a busy team.
  • Essential Certification: Must hold a valid CSCS card.
  • Own Tools: Basic hand tools and a cordless drill might be beneficial, but main power tools will be provided.
