About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Contract Business Analyst to support a critical software migration project within a retail/ecommerce environment. You’ll play a key role in understanding business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, mapping processes, and working closely with technical and operational teams to ensure a smooth and successful migration.This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of ecommerce or retail operations, systems, and data workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders across ecommerce, IT, operations, and customer service to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements.Analyse current systems and processes to understand impacts of the migration.Create as-is and to-be process maps, gap analyses, and data flow diagrams.Support solution design by translating business requirements into functional specifications.Work closely with the Project Manager to manage scope, priorities, risks, and dependencies.Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs to validate requirements and solutions.Assist with data mapping, data migration planning, and testing (e.g. UAT, regression).Help define KPIs and success metrics for the post-migration state.Support change management efforts, including training material and user documentation.Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Business Analyst in retail or ecommerce environments.Strong background working on software or system migration projects (e.g., ERP, ecommerce platforms, CMS, OMS).Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Experience with process modelling, data mapping, and requirement documentation.Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart, or similar.Nice to HaveExperience with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).Exposure to retail systems such as WMS, OMS, POS, or CRM.Knowledge of data migration, data quality assurance, and UAT processes.Understanding of omnichannel or international ecommerce operations.Get in touch with for more information.As an industry leading, nationwide Marketing, Digital, Analytics, IT and Design recruitment agency, we are continually receiving new assignments to work on, so keep a close eye on our website, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages for a full list of current permanent and interim opportunities as well as marketplace news and fun stuff.
