We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.This is a role for a committed and self-motivated person with opportunities for varied and challenging work within the Mechanical Engineering Section of the Medical Devices Unit (MDU), a multi-disciplinary clinical engineering team.The post holder will be a member of a team providing a maintenance, modification, repair and inspection service for a wide range of healthcare equipment with a mechanical function.Staff at this level will continue to develop and update their skills and knowledge. The post holder will be expected to attend relevant study days and short courses for generic and specific competency on a wide range of medical equipment and their impact on clinical management.Entry requirements: A relevant science / technology-based Higher National Diploma, S(N)VQ level 4 or equivalent e.g. a relevant HNC in an appropriate subject, may be acceptable provided there is an equivalent profile of knowledge, training and experience to HND / S(N)VQ level 4You will normally work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
