Totum is partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Credit Controller on a 14-month fixed-term contract based in Manchester.About the role
This is a key position within the finance team, focused on managing client accounts and ensuring the smooth recovery of fees. The successful candidate will:
  • Take responsibility for contacting clients to secure payment of outstanding invoices
  • Work closely with partners in monthly review meetings to agree next steps on aged debt
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of all collection activity
  • Resolve client billing queries quickly and professionally
  • Oversee the shared credit control inbox and prepare regular updates for the team
  • Support quarterly debt provisioning and highlight issues where needed
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues across the firm
About you
We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller who can bring expertise and confidence to a busy professional services environment. You will have:
  • A solid credit control experience
  • Previous exposure to working in a law firm or other partnership/professional services setting – essential
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines independently
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with partners and clients
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Elite 3E would be an advantage
