- Build and iterate on quantitative models to make them as predictive as possible as quickly as possible – strive to make them the best on the market.
- Design and implement state space models, neural architectures, or other statistical frameworks – whatever works best to extract predictive signals.
- Prototype quickly, iterate and push your solutions to the production environment.
- Work together with the wider quant team as well as the trading team, and challenge / help improve their ideas.
- You have solved at least one difficult modelling-based problem (can be Kaggle).
- You’ve designed and built your own modelling pipeline / tool end-to-end.
- You’ve built models on real data, and have developed intuition for what works in your domain.
- You managed to implement modern statistical tools / models yourself and understand how they work under the hood.
- You have a background in a STEM field like statistics / mathematics / machine learning / computer science / physics.
- Strong grasp of statistics, preference for understanding neural network architectures and state space / time series models and how to make them work in code.
- Strong intuition for working with real-life data and its traps.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preference for Python.
- Clarity of thought and being able to own and defend your modelling choices without unnecessary jargon.
- High velocity: you learn and build fast, iterate, and enjoy pushing what’s possible through engineering.
