Job OverviewThe role as Optimisation Engineer, you will form part of the Solutions & Optimisation Team. The team responsibilities are Optimisations & Mobilisations of our projects into client estates. The Optimisation Hybrid Engineering role will span a variety of tasks within the team. They will identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation through reviews of technical operations of a building monitoring and solutions.The Team is responsible for providing support services for our products delivered on client estates. Working closely with our internal teams and partners alike you will support the delivery of our technologically enhanced solutions & optimisations offerings, through reviews of the operations of a building monitoring, management solutions delivering world class remote management of connected solutions in a building environment across a wide range of sectors in the FM industry. Building out a leading remote management Solution that offers the best in connected technology.The Optimisation Engineer role will be working within the team is all thing Tech and working within Connected Workspace and will take part in the Optimisations & Solutioning of our digital maintenance using various technology applications driving efficiencies of the building management system (BMS) and other smart building technology.As Optimisation Engineer the Hybrid role in the Solutions & Optimisation Team you will participate in variety of tasks depending on experience in supporting the delivery of our technologically enhanced solutions offering, delivering remote management of connected solutions. The role will also participate in analysing data, perform diagnostics, research, optimisations and system audits to identify areas to drive efficiency and operational performance of our clients' buildings across various sectors.You will actively participate in problem-solving activities and technical investigations, utilising appropriate engineering software and tools. You will assist in the development and implementation of optimise management plans, monitor and support the tracking metrics.As part of the role, you will provide support to end users, ensuring our clients can carry out everyday duties without worrying about their buildings. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting, and actively resolving end user requests. Problem solving and technical investigations using suitable engineering software's. Technical assistance to varied engineering and managerial disciplines including but not limited to: Controls, HVAC, Electrical, Fire and Security Engineers, Facilities Managers, IT Specialists and Energy Managers.The role is primarily office based with the ability to operate from home as when required. The role commands a 40hr working week between core working hours of 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday (depending on shift working rota).This job description Is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the Hybrid role envisaged for this position and the range of duties undertaken. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder throughout the period of employment. The job description, title, role may be varied from time to time by the Company to reflect changes in the post holder's role, and/or the needs of the business.Responsibilities of Optimisation Engineer
  • Data analysis and trend monitoring: Analyse energy consumption data, trends, and operational parameters to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Energy audits: Conduct energy audits to identify energy-saving opportunities, evaluate system performance, and recommend energy-efficient solutions.
  • Optimisation strategy development: Collaborate with the team to develop optimisation strategies and action plans based on data analysis, energy audits, and industry best practices.
  • Implementation of optimisation measures: Work closely with BMS technicians and other relevant stakeholders to implement optimisation measures, such as adjusting control settings, fine-tuning system parameters, and integrating energy-efficient technologies.
  • Monitoring and tracking performance metrics: Continuously monitor and track the performance of optimized systems, assessing energy savings, operational efficiency improvements, and cost reductions.
  • Technical assistance and support: Provide technical assistance and support to various engineering and managerial disciplines, including Controls, HVAC, Electrical, Fire and Security Engineers, Facilities Managers, IT Specialists, and Energy Managers, in achieving energy management goals.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting: Collaborate with the team to resolve technical issues, investigate system malfunctions, and address optimisation challenges.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of optimisation activities, including data analysis reports, energy audit findings, optimisation strategies, and implementation progress. Prepare regular reports to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends: Continuously enhance your knowledge of building automation systems, energy management technologies, and industry best practices to ensure the application of the latest optimisation techniques.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Work closely with internal teams, including Service Technicians, BMS Engineers, and other optimisation engineers, to ensure seamless integration of optimisation initiatives and deliver world-class remote management solutions.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of optimisation methodologies, tools, and workflows within the organization.

  • Managing incoming communications and queries adhering to strict SLA's and KPI's
  • Take an active involvement in the development of systems and processes within the team.
  • Taking ownership of project tasks ensuring the timely and successful completion
  • Managing your overall performance and productivity against key indicators and using strategies that will help with increasing efficiency.
  • Maintaining workloads and solutions to support the business.
  • Supporting all functions inherent to the business to deliver success.
  • Managing pipeline works from varying sources as direct by the Delivery Manager and Leadership Teams.
Responsibilities of Solutions Engineer:
  • Ensuring the right products and Solutions are put forward with our solutions Directors
  • Ensuring company policies, processes and working practices are adhered to
  • Delivery of site mobilisations through our technology systems
  • Supporting our in-house digital platforms
  • Working to support our front-line service through works tasked as required.
  • Take an active involvement in the development of systems and processes.
  • Taking ownership of project tasks ensuring the timely and successful completion
  • Managing your overall performance and productivity against key indicators and using strategies the will help with increasing efficiency
  • Maintaining workloads and solutions to support the business.
  • Supporting all functions inherent to the business to deliver success
  • Building interdepartmental relationships and supporting best practice working practices
  • Managing pipeline works from varying sources.
The Optimisation Engineer role within the Solutions & Optimisation Teams will be working in collaboration supporting multiple project deliverables. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder throughout the period of employment.   • Basic understanding of building management systems (BMS) and energy management principles.
  • Willingness and passion to learn and commitment to your development
  • Demonstrateable intermediate understanding of technology within the building services industry is advantageous
  • Familiarity with energy auditing techniques and energy-saving measures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using engineering software and tools.
  • A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Energy Engineering or relevant field or equivalent experience in previous role.
  • Additional certifications in areas such as programming, technical support and networking would be highly regarded
  • Exposure to platforms such as AWS, Azure and experience in communications protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, Modbus and others would be an advantage
  • Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in building optimisation, energy management, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, adapt to changing technologies, and stay updated with industry trends.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate analysis, documentation, and reporting of optimisation and or solutions activities.
  • Thoroughness in conducting energy audits and assessing system performance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, electrical systems, and related technologies
