A dynamic and well-established SEN school in Lewisham is seeking a Primary SEN Teacher to join their team this September. This full-time role offers a long-term to permanent pathway and the chance to work in a setting where emotional literacy, independence, and communication are central to every child's journey.About the School
- A specialist provision supporting pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, and associated behavioural challenges
- Purpose-built facilities designed to support sensory integration, physical development, and therapeutic learning

- Located in a leafy, well-connected part of South East London with excellent transport links and local amenities
- Key Stage 2, Years 5 and 6, with nine pupils
- Supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants
- Pupils working below age-related expectations, using P Levels
- Needs include Autism Spectrum Disorder, communication difficulties, and social emotional mental health challenges
- The teacher will lead on both academic and pastoral development, including EHCP contributions and family liaison
- Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
- Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Implementing behaviour strategies that promote self-regulation and confidence
- Collaborating with therapists, families, and external professionals
- Using tools such as PECS, Makaton, sensory integration, and visual timetables
- Supporting pupils' physical and emotional wellbeing through movement, play, and reflection
- Contributing to whole-school professional development and reflective practice
- Qualified Teacher Status and experience in UK Primary settings
- A strong understanding of Autism and communication strategies
- Confident classroom management and a nurturing teaching style
- Experience with SEN-specific tools and approaches such as PECS, Makaton, or ABA is desirable
