This is an exciting opportunity to combine your love for sport with a purposeful career in education.Role Overview:As a Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of physical education across various key stages. Working closely with teachers, you’ll help foster a culture of activity, inclusion, and healthy living. Whether you're assisting in PE lessons, organising sports clubs, or mentoring students, your impact will be both physical and personal.Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured and engaging sports sessions across a range of disciplines.
- Assist PE staff in lesson planning, setup, and student supervision.
- Promote participation in physical activity among students of all abilities.
- Run lunchtime or after-school sports clubs and enrichment programmes.
- Support the organisation of inter-school competitions and events.
- Encourage students’ personal development through teamwork and discipline.
- Provide pastoral and behavioural support where necessary, particularly during physical activities.
- Prior experience working with children or young people in a coaching or education setting.
- A recognised coaching qualification (e.g. FA Level 1/2, UKCC, or equivalent) or degree in Sports Science/PE.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate learners.
- Knowledge of a broad range of sports and physical activities.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Ability to manage behaviour in a positive, inclusive, and engaging way.
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting diverse student needs.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
