The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a particular focus on cerebral palsy. This role is crucial in ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, have equal access to education and can reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, particularly those with cerebral palsy
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of students with cerebral palsy and other SEN
  • Support students in developing their independence and life skills
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents
  • Implement behavior management strategies and promote positive behavior
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs of students with cerebral palsy
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall development of SEN support strategies
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN, particularly cerebral palsy
  • In-depth knowledge of various SEN and their impact on learning
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and alternative communication methods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to assist with student mobility and personal care needs
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
