Salary: Competitive Salary Package & BenefitsOliver James is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join a market-leading global re-insurer. This role sits within the actuarial systems function, working closely with technical teams across multiple regions to enhance modelling capability, streamline processes, and deliver innovative solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and improve actuarial modelling tools to ensure consistency and efficiency across the business.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, implementing model changes and carrying out rigorous testing.
- Develop strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both actuarial and non-actuarial.
- Produce and maintain clear documentation and guidance materials.
- Utilise advanced coding skills (e.g., C++, Python, VBA) to optimise model performance and automation.
- Contribute to peer review processes and drive continuous improvement in model governance.
- Part or fully qualified actuary with relevant experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
- Proficient in coding, with experience in at least one of C++, Python, or VBA.
- Exposure to actuarial modelling platforms such as MoSes, Tyche, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of life, critical illness, income protection, and annuity/longevity products is advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working would be beneficial.
